Ouch...

I saw an orthopaedic doctor today due to a six month long nagging soreness in my right hip that has become a moderately uncomfortable pain since I fell while running last Tuesday. I had a hip xray in March to rule out arthritis, but, since my goal is to increase my ability to run, I figured it might be best to find out why I am having pain.

I don't know which was more painful: waiting TWO HOURS to see a doctor who didn't lay a hand on me except to shake my hand after talking to me, or the injection of cortisone the physicians assistant shot into my hip after HE diagnosed me as having bursitis of the hip, probably due to overuse...which means I might be squatting too much in body pump.

I see a physical therapist on Friday who will determine how to go about reducing the inflammation and how I will prevent this from becoming a long term (longer than six months) issue.

Guess this is what "middle age" is about? Yea, I'm a little bit grumpy.
