It was great fun to get together with the families from the Galaxy soccer team tonight! All but one family was able to attend, though two girls are missing from these photos. What an excellent group of people, totally like a second family. Sadly, there will be lots of changes when the team hits the field again. We are losing 7 girls to other leagues, other teams or other interests. We have drafted 9 new players for the coming season. I say "we" because I literally was there on the field at tryouts, helping coach Linwood evaluate the girls trying out for teams last week. Many have played higher level soccer before, so I am excited about the prospect of what the next season will bring. And, we have vowed to keep in contact with the families from this past season. We left the party with plans for a mother/daughter bowling night as well as a few lunch dates set up. :)
