Each day in December, the kids open a door on our advent house to find a treat, a message or an activity to do that day. Today was make a gingerbread house day. It isn't as easy as one might think to assemble a house, get it to stay put and especially spread that very thick icing. But, the kids loved it, even when our roof started separating and we lost a couple of gumballs through the crack in the roof! Here are a couple of photos of the work in progress. It made me happy to see them working together and cooperating with each other without insults or fights :-)

Wow, you have been BUSY! Props to Keith for pulling out all the stops on your trip! And props to you for having your act together enough to tackle a gingerbread house so relatively early in the season! I ALWAYS end up putting off that particular activity until Christmas Eve, at which point I can't put it off any longer. And, I always hot-glue the pieces together--otherwise, it's way too frustrating. (Needless to say, we don't eat the house afterward...) Anyway, I'm glad the holidays are so merry and bright in the Woolery home! Oh, and congrats to Kendall for making the soccer team!! Good for her!! Love ya!
