UNDERWHELMED

Alright...I am not used to this! Only once before in the history of American Idol have I not received my way in the finale, that was when Rueben Studdard beat Clay Aiken way back when. Things took a turn when my beloved Danny was sent packing last week, so I was sure that underdog (and so-so contestant) Kris would be congratulating Adam (amazingly talented front runner) on his win at 10pm tonight. I wasn't the only one stunned when Kris was given the title tonight, he even looked stunned himself. The top 13 were on stage and reacted slowly to the news, as did the rest of America, I'm sure. Adam was a gracious first runner up, as he's been gracious all season. I'm sure we'll be hearing much more from him when his album soars to the top of the charts while Kris is soon forgotten, just like Rueben Studdard all those years ago.
