...that I became a mom. TEN YEARS??? How did that happen? Everyone older and wiser warned me time would go too quickly, and it has. At 4:33 pm on March 15, 1999, I gave birth to Justin William. I am so thankful that Keith and I chose for me to be at home with our kids through the baby-toddler-preschool years. I wouldn't trade those wonderful memories for anything.
I am so thankful for my sweet-spirited, affectionate, sensitive, bright and silly boy. He has brought me joy that words cannot begin to express. I love how I can read him like a book, know his emotions just because I know him so well. I love his bright blue eyes and his beautiful smile. I love that his mouth looks the same today as it did the moment he came into this world, just a little bigger and with teeth now :-)
I like the person he is becoming. I am proud that he knows and loves the Lord. I like that he respects authority and is respectful. I am proud that he has goals he is working toward reaching.
He is a kid who still loves Lego's (I hope he always will!), nerf gun battles with his friends, Star Wars & Pokemon. He loves to explore the woods and ponds all around, loves to frolic in the outdoors, loves to play basketball and football...loves to play freeze tag, ghost in the graveyard and other night-time games in the 'hood with all the kids. He is a kid who can't wait to snow ski again next year.
He's my little boy, becoming big faster than I am ready for. He owns my heart and I love him dearly. Happy 10th Birthday, Justin. I love you!
