Where have I been?

Good question. Writers block maybe? Not enough action to warrant posting about? Post-Birthday letdown? I'm not sure. But, time has slipped by without any word from us!

I had some dental work done last Monday. Three crowns to be more precise! My boss did the work for me and I must say, it was completely painless. I had some large fillings that had been with me for 20 years now and one of them was getting a little sensitive. Instead of doing one, we took care of the entire area so I'd be good to go for a long, long time. This has never occured with me before, but when he got me anesthetized, the nerve he numbed connects to my ear and is apparently inflammed and I feel like I have an ear infection. I've also had canker sores along the gum where he worked and my gums feel like ground beef. It's not been the best week where my mouth is concerned. Let me just add; he's a wonderful dentist and my TEETH feel great :-)

Justin has been hounding us for more than a month now to take guitar lessons. He finally won!
He will start at the end of April and will learn the electric guitar. Believe it or not, we have a Jack Daniels electric guitar AND a Southern Comfort bass guitar sitting in our TV room where Kendall practices her piano. Our next door neighbor had a brand new (used 1 month) amplifier that he sold to us for a very low price, so Justin is all set for his lessons with little expense to prepare. The wii rock band game has sparked his interest in music big time. He was able to teach himself to excel on the games guitar and is at an "expert" level. Hope the real deal will come just as easy for him!

Kendall wrote a letter to Bobby Bowden for a school project. She got a letter back from him yesterday! She was thrilled. The entire class chose people they would like to write to and are hoping to hear back from them. She can't wait to share this response with her class.

It's apparently birthday season as the kids have a party (or two) to attend each week. Justin is attending a sleepover party for his best friend, Ray tonight.

I had a blast attending a field trip with Justin's class yesterday. They went to the Durham Museum of Life and Science (a museaum I didn't even know about!). It was a very nice museum and a wonderful day for it- they were calling for storms; it was breezy, sunny and 78 degrees.
Gotta love that kind of weather forcasting mess up. The butterfly house was my favorite. There were hundreds of beautiful butterflies flying around the flowers, and if you stood still for a moment they would land on you. My least favorite part was a cockroach display. These were not the roaches I saw while growing up in Florida- these were HUGE and UGLY. I'd probably pass out if I came face to face with one in real life.

I've been consuming an antioxidant drink for almost two weeks now. It's main ingredient is the acai berry known to be the current best "superfood". All I know is I feel like I could hurdle vehicles, I have so much energy. Not a caffeine buzz feeling, just a good, solid energy. I love that!

Kendall's spring soccer season has been mostly a wash-out. Three of five weeks have been rained out. She is so bummed. Today is gorgeous, but, there are no games due to public school spring breaks. Thankfully, they are going to be able to make up each missed game. She can't wait. Yesterday was career day at school. She went as a soccer player, complete with her cleats and ball in hand.

We track out in two weeks! This one will be a three and a half week break. We have plans to visit the new Great Wolf Lodge in Charlotte that just opened two weeks ago. We are also going to Ohio to visit Keith's parents for a few days. AND, my mom is coming to town next week with Riad, who will be here to work. We always have a great time tooling around together when she's here.

I just finished a really good book called The Shack. It is a christian fiction book that was so good I will definately have to read again at some point.

We adopted five crabs last week from Justin's classroom. Two are Kendall's, three are Justin's. Kendall has named her two girls Missus Crabs and Sparkle; Justin has Rocky, Charlie and Sandy.
They reside on our screened porch because they smell a bit fishy. I don't much care for the fishy smell inside the house!

Well, there you have the latest from the Woolery household. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
