Keith's favorite gift: an FSU lamp for his office
We've had a wonderful day, hope you have too. Justin was apparently beside himself with excitement, as he was up at 1:30, 3:00, 4:30, 5:00 and then 6:20. It was at that point that we let him gently ask Kendall if she was ready to get up. "Of course I am", she replied. "I snuck downstairs at 5:00 to see if Santa had come. Mrs. Clause wrote really pretty on the tags, but I think Santa got my stocking and mommy's mixed up, 'cause there is a disney gift sticking out the top of mommy's stocking." So, the two of them crept into grandma and grandpa's room to see if they would be willing to get started on gift opening. They happily agreed, so we all headed down at 6:30 to see what Santa left! We finished right after 8am, just in time for breakfast. We've all had the usual: excited day exploring new things, yet relaxed...everyone had time for rest. The biggest suprise of the day: the wii. I knew the kids would love it, but after they headed out to play a bit, the four of us adults spent the next hour and a half bowling! What a great game. It is as if you are at the bowling alley (minus the smoke), rolling a real ball. The game also came with tennis, golf, baseball, boxing; and Keith is on his way to addiction to the golf game. We wouldn't be suprised if mom W. was caught up in the middle of the night bowling :)
Now, here is something you won't hear often...a little girl who got shot in her home on Christmas Day by her Grandpa! Yes, it happened here. Thank goodness it was with an airsoft gun and at her back and not her face; so that we can now laugh about it. Dad W. had it emptied after Justin had a very difficult time operating it, he was walking back over to the packaging so it could be returned to the store and apparently, a single pellet was lodged inside. Scary how easily an accident could lead to disaster, huh? Kendall is a-okay though, and Justin refuses to use the gun that hurt his sister. Wishing you all a merry rest of Christmas!
The kids declared it a wonderful Christmas and not just for their new gifts, but for their family, even each other! They have been super sweet, thankful and loving. Merry Christmas one and all!
