Happy New Years Eve

I couldn't go without one final post for 2008! With Keith's parents visiting, we've been busy since Christmas, so I haven't posted. Here's a recap of what we've been up to:
*The day after Christmas, we went to the Carolina Crossroads restaurant on the UNC campus in Chapel Hill. We had an adults night out and left the kids with a sitter. It was a wonderful night out in a swanky little restaurant located inside a historical inn. We drove down Franklin Street afterwards where the college stores, restaurants and shops are located.
*Saturday we hosted a party for the FSU vs. Wisconsin bowl game. Thankfully, FSU looked great and won :-) We also had a bowling tournament on the wii. Justin would be proud to let you know he kicked all our boo-tays!
*Sunday, we went to church and then lunched at Chili's before coming home to rest and relax. Then, we left grandma and grandpa home for a few hours while Keith, the kids and I went to dinner at a neighbors. She cooked indian food! Yum! We wouldn't normally leave guests like that, but I thought it was a girls evening out when I accepted. It was for four families, so the senior Wooleries insisted we go ahead. They bowled while we were away :)
*Monday, we all went to Duke Gardens and the Duke Chapel. It was a nice day to be outside, the sun was shining brightly. Keith's mom was curious to see it due to her love of gardening. Even though it was winter, we were amazed at how much was still growing and she had a blast looking at all the varieties of plants and flowers. The kids climbed the magnolia trees again!
*Yesterday was a day trip to Old Salem in Winston-Salem. We walked the streets of the village and dined at the Old Salem Tavern on Moravian fare with costumed wait staff. Again, the weather was great. Of all things, we ran into neighbors from three doors down, who had taken their parents up for the day! Old Salem is a Moravian village that was settled in the 1700's, they still have working shops and a bakery and a very cool cemetary to visit. I loved the old buildings!
*Today, we had a girls day out. Kendall received a gift certificate to build a bear that she couldn't wait to use. We headed out to Southpoint to help her create her new friend (a hannah montana bear, complete with underwear and a sparkly outfit and shoes!) and then ate lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Meanwhile, the boys went to the driving range to hit golf balls and then to lunch. In a few minutes, we are heading two doors down for a neighborhood new years eve party. We usually stay right here and play cards, but the nacho bar and chocolate fountain, along with our favorite neighbors, sounded too good to pass up!
Wishing you all a wonderful, happy, joyful and blessed new year!!
