Well, I have just finished what I think is my favorite book to date; The Secret Life Of Bees.
I went to lunch with three women friends and then one of them joined me for a movie on Monday afternoon. We went to see The Women. While it was a bit of a slow start, it ended up being a good, light-hearted girly movie; very enjoyable. One of the previews was for a movie coming out October 17 that caught my attention. When I mentioned to Marda that it looked like an excellent movie (Jennifer Hudson, Queen Latifah, Alicia Keyes, Dakota Fanning), she told me it was the BEST novel she'd ever read. "Not literally", she said, "but story-wise, the best". She mentioned having a copy lying around and handed it over to me on Monday evening. I started it Tuesday before work and had it finished by this Thursday noon. With Keith gone and the kids in school with me working only 2 half days, I was able to neglect all responsibility to read. I actually hate when I get that way. Why can't I just read a few chapters each night before bed like normal people? I get to the point where I practically fail on all responsibility just so I can read. Thankfully, there was school, after school activity, playdates with friends and all that to keep the family occupied, along with Keith out of town...so I was able to get away with it.
If you have the chance to read the book and haven't yet, please consider it. It's a very good read! Then, see the movie. It's going to be great!

I loved that book too! I didn't know there was going to be a movie. Too bad we can't go see it together! Unless you want to meet halfway, say in Oklahoma? :)
