Harvest Festival With Kendall

Eating our lunch
Carving away...

Here is our finished product...not bad

Grafting treats

Decorating a cookie

Her finished cookie, nauseatingly sweet

I spent the entire afternoon Friday at school with Kendall for her class Harvest Party. Actually, they aren't allowed to call it a "party", but it was a "learning experience"...lunch, pumpkin carving, cookie decorating and necklace making sounds like a party to me! They did graft items that were given to them in a treat bag, so that made it educational :-)

Since Keith was out of town, I did the pumpkin carving this year where last year, Keith carved for Justin during this same event. I have never carved a pumpkin before. Keith was always the carver. I must say that I impressed myself; it wasn't so hard. Granted, we kept it simple, but I'd call it a success. It was a nice albeit cloudy day starting with a picnic lunch outdoors. That was followed by pumpkin carving, then we went back into the classroom to make necklaces, decorate cookies and then graft the various treats they were given all while listening to music on the cd player. Here are some photos of the day...
