Two days post walk, I had a much anticipated pedicure. I scheduled this two months ago and haven't had a pedicure in five months. Five months is a record for me, as pedicures are my most favorite treat along with a new handbag! I was encouraged not to get pedicures during training as rough, caloused feet are less prone to blistering. Poor Keith got to feel the brunt of my caloused feet in bed when I would accidentally make contact with his legs or feet while sleeping- they were sharp enough to cut. So, I held off on shaving the skin off my feet in order to prepare for this walk, went most of summer with ugly feet, where usually I consider them one of my most attractive features...and many of you are laughing right now, because you know I love my feet with a passion and brag about their beauty whenever I get the opportunity. So, today, after giving my feet yesterday to recover, I went in for my 11am appointment with Annette, the best pedicure giver on the planet (I swear I've sent 25 people to her if I've sent one) and relished in my long awaited, much anticipated hour of glorious rubbing, shaving, primping and painting. They feel so good that I decided to take a photo. After seeing this photo, I've realized that my feet are probably still a bit swollen from being walked on for 15 hours this weekend; they don't quite look their slender, sleek, gorgeous selves. But they are smooth and soft and painted the palest of pink and I have happy feet again.
