Walking Like A Maniac

With five weeks to go til my Avon Walk For Breast Cancer, I spent three hours walking yesterday and two hours out this morning, estimating 15-17 miles being covered over the course of these two days. I feel like I'm ready and could survive the 39.3 miles at this point, but at the same time, I am grateful to have these last five weeks to step it up a bit. I'm most concerned about my feet: blisters, etc. Yesterday, the last stretch my feet bones were aching very badly. My hips also felt like they were just going to release my legs and allow them to fall right off. I never thought to take advil ahead of time as an anti-inflammatory, but will definately remember that in the future. We may, as a group, attempt a 17 miler this weekend. That is about the longest I plan to do to prepare. According to most, if you do a 15 mile walk, you usually will have success finishing. Having these shortened work hours right now is definately coming in handy to allow me to have some hours to walk and still get the laundry done!!
