A Word Or Two About Virginia

I haven't been posting much here in August. I think it's because the kids have been home and time to do things like blog have been slim. The kids will return to school Monday, I think they'd like to have another three weeks home! The kids and I drove to Virginia this week to visit good friends from our old 'hood. We stayed with Challie, Sean and Liz for two nights; Jeff was out of town, so we left Keith home to work and had mom and kids time. Though we've only averaged a visit once a year, the four kids and Challie and I just pick up right where we left off as if we'd seen each other last week instead of last year. Gotta love that! The kids were in their own world playing which left us moms with lots of time to catch up, it was wonderful talking for hours with Challie; having a good friend who's kids are pretty much going through the same things is great for bouncing ideas off each other. We also made a short visit to our old street and visited with the Sturgill's (Justin's good friends Zack and Jared) and were able to visit with Connor and his mom, Marie (who lived next door to us). It was a fun getaway for all of us, and an easy three hour trip.

The weekend brings about sleepovers for both kids tonight! Kendall is attending a birthday party sleepover and Justin is sleeping over at Ray's, so Keith and I are going out for a night on the town and then have an 80's party to attend later (I was promised that Corey Hart will be on the music list)- do any of you remember that I wanted to marry him when I was in the tenth grade?!?! I'm sure by tomorrow, we will all be sleep deprived, but, what better way to end a track out for the kids than a night up late with good friends...and for their parents for that matter!
