Last Thursday evening, a two hour delay was announced for our schools because we were expecting a three to five inch snowfall overnight. I was so excited! Sleds were at the ready. We were disappointed to wake to a whopping 1/4 to 1/2 inch...the kids were really counting on that two hour delay to turn into a day off.
One week later, this Thursday afternoon, it has been announced that schools will close three hours early because we are expecting snow to begin at noon tomorrow, followed by sleet and ice. We are not expecting it to be a big snow event, but maybe it will surprise us and give us the snow we were cheated out of last week.
It is really, really cold (for us). We've had three days in a row in the 30's and tonight I think it will dip into the teens again. I am so happy we are having a little bit of winter, finally. I just hope it's not a major ice event, since that gets a little dangerous. Either snow or ice, you are not likely to find me on the road, but snuggled up near the fireplace with cocoa or coffee :)
