An Aaaahhhhh Sunday

Today was a great Sunday, and it isn't even over yet!

It began with church this morning. Palm Sunday has been one of the hardest days for me personally to attend church since I watched the movie "The Passion Of The Christ" several years ago. Our pastor has been doing a series called "The Real March Madness" for a few weeks, which gives an in- debth account of the events leading to Jesus being crucified. Today was the beating and crucifixion message. After seeing the movie, there is such a vivid picture in my mind now of what Jesus went through as he was being beaten, flogged, mocked that I never saw in just the words in the bible. It causes Palm Sunday and Easter to be much more emotional now and has been since I went to see that movie. Harder, yes, but I don't regret it at all. If I could be in "charge", I would require everyone to see that movie, it is that powerful.

We then came back to our neighborhood to pick up Justin from Ray's sleepover birthday party. The boys were all dirty and looked very tired (Dave and Julie think they were up til 4 or 5a.m.). We gathered up our dirty child and put him in the car to head to Sunday lunch, which we always have out. Today we went to Maggianos for Italian. The kids each ordered from the kids menu, Keith and I ordered from the lunch menu and we all have enough left over for our dinner, which means....no cooking for me tonight!! That puts a smile on my face :)

After arriving home, everyone except Kendall was ready for some Sunday relaxation. I tucked Justin into the guest bed for a nap, I stretched out on our bed and managed a little cat nap while Keith was on the couch with basketball and also snoozed for a bit. It is cloudy, windy and we are expecting rain, making for perfect Sunday afternoon napping conditions.

And that is why I say Aaaaahhhhhh, a wonderful Sunday in the making!
