Last Day Of School

Sponge relay!

The kids are celebrating the last day of school today before their whopping one week summer break! They are having awards ceremonies, pizza parties and the like. I attended my last event of the year yesterday with the fourth grade as they had their luau. It was HOT and I was sunburned from our time on the boat Sunday, so it was a bit painful to be out in the sun and heat. (and, yes, mom, I used sunscreen :) I guess doing it myself wasn't such a great idea, I missed some spots!)
Here are some luau photos. They had a great time and did some fun activities. I was tempted to get myself into the sponge relay just to get soaked, but I got a few hugs from wet kids that helped cool me down! Which reminds me, Justin's entire class wrote thank you notes and gave them to me yesterday. I was room mom this year and their notes were thank you's for helping out. They were very sincere and sweet notes, and I have twenty of them to keep in my memory box! I love things like that. Made my day!
