time to head home
My Gramps turned 90 on Friday, June 26th. I could not resist the urge to be with him to celebrate such a milestone. What better reason for a quick visit to see my grandparents? So, I got up early Friday and caught a plane to Tampa. I was there in time for breakfast! It actually began to thunderstorm by the time I made it to the parking garage at the airport-so I'm thankful I landed when I did. I spent the day simply visiting with gram and gramps; talking, remembering past times and catching up on current times. We went to an early dinner of steak at the restaurant of my gramps' choosing. It was a yummy dinner. I drove us home in the pouring rain (the beginnings of another thunderstorm) and then we had a bonafide birthday party complete with singing, cake, party plates and a balloon :-) Afterward, we visited some more until bedtime. We got up Saturday, went to an early lunch at Country Pizza Inn- a place I MUST go to when I visit the area, for the cheese pizza and greek salad-mmmmmm good. My ride came at 1:15 and took me back to the airport where I caught a return flight home. It was a short visit, but one of great quality time spent together. I am so glad I made the trip down, was so happy to see my grandparents, thrilled to be there to celebrate my gramps turning 90. Thanks for having me, guys. I love you both. Can't wait til next time...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRAMPS. I LOVE YOU!
