Third Grade Famous American Day

Kendall became an expert on Laura Ingalls Wilder- author of the Little House On The Prarie series of books. Friday was presentation day and parents were invited in to listen to the kids present their information. They all did a fantastic job and were eager to share. These kids have no fear of puplic speaking/presentation giving! I think at that age, I would've slid right under the table and hid, I am not a fan to this day of public speaking.

Before we were due in third grade on Friday, Keith and I went out on the lake for a couple of hours. It was 70 and sunny, so once we found a semi-cove to park in, it was deliciously warm. We each brought our current read and had a peaceful two hours of reading time. It felt good to get a bit of sun on my face- first time this season!

Friday was track-out day. I was at the store when Justin got out of school, so Keith picked him up. I don't think I layed my eyes on him til after 8pm when he finally came home for dinner! All one thousand of our neighborhood kids were playing manhunt and ghost in the graveyard til then. My biggest kid, Keith, played poker with the other big boys :) Kendall played an excellent soccer game Saturday and for the second time in a row, scored two goals in the game! She is quickly becoming passionate about the game of soccer. Last night, the weather was so nice and Keith had spent much of the day working in the yard, that we invited several families over for a glass of wine on the deck. The kids again ran around in the dark playing various games and eating raw veggies and chocolate chip cookies (good combo, right?). It's been a nice weekend here, hope the same is true where you are!
