My neighbor and walking buddy, Wendy, is taking me to the most listened to morning radio program in the area to promote a fundraiser for our team. We are going to be IN THE STUDIO with the radio personalities, talking with them! Here's how it came about...
we were seeking ways to raise funds as a team by doing "dining for the cause" events. Keith and I know the manager of our local Chili's restaurant pretty well and suggested we go to him. He accepted, his wife joined our team too, and at his general managers meeting, got all of the regional Chili's to participate as well. So...we have to get word out to as many people as possible to eat at Chili's on August 12 so our team will receive 20% of their bill. Wendy contacted G105 seeking publicity and they have invited her and a guest to come on air to talk about it and I'm that guest.
I am very excited to 1. promote the walk; 2. thank Tom for helping us through the dining for a cause; 3. be on the radio; 4. let everyone know how awesome Chili's is for doing this 5. meet radio personalities that I've listened to for two years.
I am not very excited to 1. be across Raleigh by 6:30 am when I usually don't even get up until 7-ish.
I am hoping 1. I don't sound dumb on air...I have a tendancy toward stage fright.
