New Years day brought with it plenty of relaxation. It was needed after such a lively night. The kids were tired (adults kinda were too, if I am being honest). The kid party carried on until 1:30 am, Keith's parents went to bed just as kids were departing. Two of them slept over, but they were hunkered down in their rooms shortly after 1:30. Keith was up til 2-ish. I found a second wind (short lived) and started a movie on dvr, but gave up at 3. The girls were just getting themselves tucked in around that time. The boys were extremely low-key, but claim to have carried on for quite awhile after I turned in.
So, yesterday brought more football watching, more trampoline jumping, reading and relaxing. Keith's parents made new years dinner which was so yummy. Most of us were freshly showered and in jammies by 5:15 when dinner was served! Keith and I undecorated a little. The kids finished their day with some wii bowling with their grandparents, followed by a few hands of old maid with grandma and grandpa. They were tucked in at 9pm sharp and then the adults played two games of euchre. I think we were all in bed by 10:30- wiped out :)
We returned somewhat to our normal routine by heading to church at 9 this morning and Keith's parents headed toward Ohio at that time. It is back to reality tomorrow: alarm clocks, homework, sports and music practices. It sure was a great two week "vacation" and it felt very much like we were on vacation. Welcome 2011, can't wait to see what you have in store for us!
