Baking was done today, and lots of it. We baked oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, ginger cookies and sugar cookies. I also baked our christmas eve dessert of vanilla cake with caramel icing, topped with heath bar crumbles. One thing left for this season and that is a simple pumpkin pie...then I think I'm done til next December :)
Keith's mom fixed a favorite for dinner tonight. Open faced hamburgers. Everyone in the family loves them and my kids request them anytime they are staying in the same house with grandma Woolery. We ate these up prior to heading out to christmas carol this evening.
It was a very chilly night, but what better night to get in the christmas spirit, right?! We went at it for about an hour. Seems there were way WAY more kids than adults...but we kept it under control and had a fine time visiting and caroling with our frozen limbs (and in some cases, butts)...good times!
So, now that it is after midnight, it is officially christmas eve! We are supposed to get a white christmas in NC!! I've heard forecasts say 3-6 inches and I've heard forecasts say a trace to 2 inches. Being that since we've lived here, we haven't had a flurry fly until mid January until 2010's December, I will not hold my breath and if we get anything, I will try to be grateful and not disappointed. But, I am secretly hoping for more rather than less. I mean, since we don't have anywhere to go for a few days, why not!?!?
Merry Christmas Eve to everyone that we arent' with this christmas. Know that we love you, miss you and wish we could see everyone that is near and dear to us!!
