Kendall celebrated her 9th birthday this weekend. Shortly after school on Friday, we went to "Paint Your Pot" where a group of 11 girls got together to paint pottery and have cookie cake. They all had a great time together. Just a short time after that, three friends were at our house for the beginnings of a sleepover. We've never had that many sleep over at once. It was lively to say the least :) First, we took the four of them to dinner at the Melting Pot. None of the three guests had dined there before, so there was a lot of "don't wave your fondue fork through the air like that, it may poke someones eye. remember not to put the raw meat on the plate you eat off of. nope, that chicken still looks raw, lets cook it some more." Our one guest, Tessa, claimed " this is tricky"...Skyler was really into it, as was Gabriella, and they chowed down heartily. Gabriella let us know that her mom told her not to "gorge like a pig", which she didn't...until the chocolate came! They belted out songs on the drive home and once we arrived back at the house, the sugar kicked in and they got loud. That's okay, it was a birthday party. They played twister, danced and sang, gossiped and then at midnight, decided on a midnight snack and a movie. Kendall got Hannah Montana's movie for a gift, so they watched that. At 2a.m. when the movie ended, they decided they would act out some of the movie. I heard one of them suggest that they wash their faces with cold water so they could stay up ALL NIGHT playing this game!
I decided it might be time to give them a limit on their wakefulness. I let them play til 2:30, then asked them nicely to get into their sleeping bags and take it down to whispers. Thankfully I heard the last peep at 2:59. I was asleep at 3:05. Kendall had a blast! We said goodbye to everyone by 10 a.m. and headed to watch Justin's football scrimmage. I had the most wonderful nap at 1p.m.- enough to rest up for the remainder of the day. Justin and Keith went to a UNC football game Saturday evening while Kendall and I headed to bed early.

Today is Kendall's actual birthday. We have baked a cake. My mom and Riad are due to arrive for a visit soon, where we will have a labor day cookout followed by birthday cake. And then to top it all off, Florida State opens their season tonight at 8pm playing Miami. What better way to end a wonderful weekend?! GO SEMINOLES!!!
Happy Birthday, Kendall!
