guess who's visiting this weekend?

Bowden (or Dagan) now.

Bowden in August 08

Our brief family member, Bowden (from last year this time), was adopted by my boss' mother and father in law, whom I see every four months for their cleaning and check ups. They asked several months ago if we'd like to pup sit sometime. After checking with my family, they all (enthusiastically) said "yes". So, this Friday, he was delivered to our home to spend the weekend while his family vacations in New England. Bowden (now called Dagan) has been with us for the weekend and is a very good little boy. Justin and Kendall call him Bowden, which may confuse him, though he doesn't seem to mind or notice, and have enjoyed him very much. Friday night, they had a sleepover in the playroom with him. Today, he joined us at Kendall's soccer game (which her team won- the first game in two seasons- and Kendall scored two goals!). Then we took the puppy home to his crate while we went to Justin's football game. They tied the game! They lost every game last season and this season lost their first (last week). Today they were tied at the end and went into sudden death field goal kicks. Each team kicked three times and that ended in a tie, which ended the game. At least it was a tie, not a loss.
On our way home (the field is 30 minutes away), we got a flat tire :( We stopped to pump it up, but it was losing air fast, so we called the Chrysler dealer that we use regularly. They had two matching tires of the 2 we replaced last October and could get us in right away, and we happened to be passing right by, so we stopped in for the service call.
Upon arrival home, Keith, who's throat has been hurting for two days, asked me to look at it. It has the ugly redness with white spots that is typcial of strep. He headed off to an urgent care place. Kendall, who's been complaining on and off of a sore throat, began to complain more of her sore throat. It wasn't until later in the evening that we noticed her neck glands to be swollen. She probably has what Keith has. His "rapid test" came back negative, but they are sending it off for a culture. He was exposed to the flu this week in Charlotte at a company meeting (hopefully NOT the swine flu)...so we are preparing for the worst.

Tonight, Justin and the pup are in his room snoozing away. Kendall and I will hunker down in my room while Keith takes sick bay in the guest room...hoping for healthier days!
