a movie? Last evening, after working, showering and making dinner, I read my emails. A couple of friends had made plans to go to lunch and a movie today and invited me to join them. My plans were to clean bathrooms and I thought, why, that can wait for another day...I think I'd rather go see a movie and have lunch with my friends. So I did.
They had already decided on the movie, and it was "The Reader" in which Kate Winslet had just won an award for on Sunday for her role in that movie. Have you ever seen a movie that was absolutely OUTSTANDING but at the same time completely not entertaining? That is the only way to describe this film. It was one of the most powerful films I've ever seen. Kate Winslet was so great in it that there aren't even words to express. The movie takes place in post WW2 Germany and is a very serious film with more nudity than I've seen in my life in any movie- I was beginning to wonder if it were a porn film. But, it moves beyond that and doesn't return, thankfully, and turns out to be a great movie. I would recommend. It was based on a novel whose author I can't recall at this time, but I look forward to reading the book in the very near future.
