We skipped school on a Saturday!

There is one thing about year-round school that isn't so great. If school is cancelled for ANY reason, there is no room for make up days on the calendar, because school is always in session with some of the 4 tracks (or schedules). We missed two days last week; one for snow and the following day due to icy conditions on the roads. So, today was day 1 of 2 Saturdays scheduled to make up the missed days. We didn't have the heart to send the kids to school on a weekend, didn't think it was fair, especially on such short notice...when we had already paid for a gymnastics session for Kendall, soooooo, we skipped school today! We were putting laundry away while they learned math across the steet, drinking coffee and planing our day while they had reading lessons across the street. It felt good to rebel against the system :-)
