The Williams Family Visits (part two)

Justin & Tarik head to the pond to check things out.

Tarik lost a shoe in the storm drain and therefore is unhappy!

Kids climbing the magnolia trees...

Hot, sweaty kids on a very humid day.

Playing a little Frisbee in front of Duke Chapel!

Tarik and the men.

Day 2 found us at Duke Gardens for some outdoor recreation. It was a steamy day today and it was felt by everyone. We had three minor incidents while there. First, Kendall got a fat lip when Keith threw the Frisbee to her and it hit her in the mouth. Right about that time, Holden found Summer and came to her crying because he thought he was lost when he couldn't find his mom or dad (or any of us) for a minute. Then, Tarik was sitting on the edge of the storm drain/ pond when a shoe fell off her foot and got swept away. Summer almost jumped in after the shoe and if she had, I think it would've been incident number four.

After walking around the gardens, we headed over to Duke's campus to see the chapel. Unfortunately, a wedding was about to take place, so it wasn't open to the public that day. The kids were really hot and getting hungry, so we didn't spend too much time on campus.

We did have lunch at nearby Foster's Market, a very well known sandwich shop. The greek grilled cheese is my favorite as it's loaded with tomato, cucumber, spinach, cooked onion, artichoke hearts all on a warm, soft pita- yum!

In order to cool off, once home the dads took the kids to the pool while Summer and I made a delicious dinner of enchiladas with verde sauce, mexican rice and an incredible black bean and avocado salad...all recipes I was trying for the first time. I frequently try out new recipes when I am cooking for company. Not always a good idea, but this was a great turnout.

Day two= success!!
