After surviving the busiest week in our family history, we are on vacation as of noon Sunday!! Much needed for all four of us. Keith has been gone almost the entire past week and a half, traveling for work. Over the weekend, he was only home late Friday and Saturday, then left after church on Sunday. This past week, I worked some, I volunteered at church almost every day, drove carpool as Kendall was involved in a music camp at church, Justin had a basketball camp each afternoon as well as football conditioning each evening. Thank goodness for carpool!!! Just the act of coordinating the kids, packing food and making lists was tiring. Add to the mix a little work here and there and a bunch of driving, it made for an insane week! Kendall spent six hours a day singing, dancing and playing games. Justin spent five hours a day in intense physical activity (I kind of felt sorry for him), two of which were outside in 100 degree temps, I think the week was hardest on him. He ate like a horse! Sweat like a pig!!
So...do you see why we might be ready for a vacation?
We hit the road tomorrow after Kendall finishes her 4th performance of the weekend, for the ultimate road trip :)
We are stopping first in D.C., from there, going to see Niagra Falls on the Canadian side. I've never been, have wanted to and am crossing fingers that the temps are in the 80's. Anything 90 or below will feel WONDERFUL! After seeing the Falls, we are continuing on to Toronto for a couple of days. We will wrap up the trip with a stop in Ohio to celebrate the 80th birthday of Keith's mom. She is having a tea party (ladies only)!! How fun!
If I could just get us packed, I'd be ready to hit the road :)
