I am not sure I have ever attended so many parties in so few days. We even turned down three get togethers over the weekend, after all, there is only so much time in a day.
We started with celebrating the end of 6th grade for Justin. He had several friends over and I had a couple of the moms of said friends for wine and discussion of how quickly this school year went by. This was Friday afternoon/evening. Saturday morning, we took several kids out to tube on the lake for the better part of the day. A rare occurrence: when we got home, everyone showered and all four of us fell asleep! It was wonderfully rare :) That evening, during a rainstorm, Keith and I headed next door to celebrate our neighbor's 50th! Apparently, we were the old farts who left at 10pm to go to sleep, while the party raged on til 1am- this at a house where they always go to bed at 10 sharp. After church on Sunday morning, we headed to celebrate with a family we've grown close to. They live in the neighborhood and attend the same church. Their oldest, Kelsey, graduated from high school. It was a lovely party and we were thrilled to celebrate with her and support her during a very exciting time. Justin, Kendall, Keith and I all went dressed in UNC-Chapel Hill t-shirts, as this is where she will attend school in the fall. She is a real smarticle :) We wrapped up the weekend with a wiener roast at the pool and stayed there a short while until a storm blew in. (thankfully...we were worn out!)
Today, I celebrated my 42nd year of life. After being greeted by my sweet family, my gram called bright and early and sang to me! It was so sweet. After a day of usual business, we went to dinner at my favorite special dinner place: the melting pot..there I received sweet cards from Keith and the kids and an iPad!! What fun to receive a new toy!! Now, to get it up and going...
