Weekend

In downtown Charlotte, getting ready to go into the
basketball game. Literally, we had a two minute walk from
hotel to arena.

It was announced that Nelly (the artist) was court side.
He happens to have a hit out that we LOVE, called "just
a dream". I stalked him most of the rest of the night (by
camera).

After the basketball game, we got a pedicab ride (a guy
pedaling a bike with a seat on the back) to this bowling bar.
They wouldn't let us in, which is a good thing because it
was located in this three story complex full of bars and
restaurants and the place gets pretty rowdy the later it
gets. We've stayed directly across the street before and
been awakened to sirens, gone to the window to see people
being arrested, stumbling around drunk, arguing, etc...
not a scene for 10 & 11 year olds (or me for that matter).
We went back to the room and read instead :)

Getting ready to head into the stadium on
Sunday. Gorgeous blue skies, but very
chilly. Charlotte in the background!

Okay, our seats were in the shade and it was COLD. I
mean, it was "I almost couldn't stand it" cold.

This is how I attempted to stay warm!

We had a nice time in Charlotte. Basketball was very exciting. The bobcats came from a 15 point deficit to within one point, a very exciting rally back, but lost in the end. It was so fun to cheer them to such a close game.

Football was less exciting, but very fun because we wanted to see the saints win! It was 34 to 3. It was SO cold. Supposedly it was 55 degrees, but in the shade and with a breeze, it felt more like 30. Brrrr. In the 4th quarter, when everyone was leaving due to it being a blow out, we moved to seats in the sun and thawed out.

One of the highlights was the bicycle cab rides we took around downtown. Kendall saw a horse and carriage also, but by the time we made it back to the location they give rides at, they had closed down for the night. It is number one on our list for next time though. I love downtown Charlotte, it's definitely a fun place to visit. We'll be going back in December to see the Cardinals play. Yep, we'll be rooting for the Cardinals that trip :)
