Bloody Mary's, Football and a drive to East Tennessee

Happy Friday one and all. Hope you all have something fun planned this weekend. Wanna know what I accomplished in the past week?
1. I was brave and had my root canal done! I didn't chicken out! No one volunteered to take my place, so I went in and did it. It wasn't fun. It hurt a little. It was SO stressful. My shoulders and neck were a ball of knots when I was done. But, it's over! No longer looming over my head like it was for five months!
2. I had my yearly eye exam yesterday with dilation and everything. Another yuk, but not as bad as the root canal. All is well there!
3. I had a stress test this morning at 7am. This was weird and time consuming and was another thing I had put off for several months. When I walked in, the lady said...so, you made it in FINALLY?!?! This was ordered due to palpitations I had back in March coupled with the heart murmur I have and family history of heart defect and atrial fibrillation...it was a "lets take a look and make sure everything is working as it should". Guess what? It is all working as it should!!

Tonight we are going to a neighbors for bloody mary's. This is supposed to be "scary", since it's almost Halloween and all. They apparently have their dining room all decorated spooky :)

Tomorrow, Justin plays his biggest football game of the season. He is facing a team with two of his best friends on it. I'm trying to get him all fired up so he can make some big tackles and win the "score" award (an award given to one player on each team showing great sportsmanship, effort, etc. It would be a great game to win the award.

As soon as that game is over, Justin is going to get cleaned up and we are heading to Kingsport, Tn- my hometown! My gram is in Tn now and she, my uncle, my mom and us will all meet in Kingsport to have a memorial service for both my gramps (who passed in July) as well as my uncle who died about three years ago. My grandparents have owned a plot of land for many years and now that she's been cleared to travel, we are all able to meet to bury the ashes of both my uncle and gramps. They will be placed right beside my brother, who's grave I have not visited since I was a teenager. I have several relatives from both my moms side and dads side buried in this cemetery, so I am happy to be able to return since it's been so long. I am so glad my gram will have the chance to honor and acknowledge the deaths of both her son and husband and am glad we will be able to be with her. I'm also happy to be able to show my children around my birth town a little bit, since they were babies last time we were there. Visiting the former homes of both sets of grandparents is still a very exciting thing for me. I never forget the excited feeling I would get pulling up to their homes for a visit. The smell of the air. The comfort and joys of visiting the grandparents as a little kid. :-) It ought to be a nice time.
