I was up and raring to go at 7:30 (early for a Saturday). I slipped into the closet, put on my workout gear and was heading downstairs for a quick snack before going to an 8a.m. TRX class at my neighbor's home gym. I saw Kendall wasn't in bed, so I stepped into her bathroom to say good morning. I found her hovering over her toilet with a tummy ache. She said her stomach had been hurting since 1a.m. and she'd been sleeping on her bathroom floor since 4a.m. This made me incredibly sad, that she was ill and didn't have the comfort of a parent with her...she had no blanket, no pillow, just the tile of her bathroom floor for all those hours. And, sick on top of it. (TRX class- out the window)
We came downstairs to get her some sprite and crackers and sat together in the bathroom where she fell asleep three different times with her head on the toilet. She had a fever that continued to rise all morning, at it's highest was 103. After much misery, she FINALLY threw up at about 10:30 and of course her stomach felt better instantly. She wanted to sleep, so I tucked her in bed before 11am and she slept til 2.
Our planned afternoon of family time on the boat, became boy time on the boat and I've stayed behind with Kendall. (I really wanted to tube!) I packed the boys a cooler full of junk food plus water and grapes and I'm going to continue to work on nursing miss Kendall back to health. Was really hoping to make it to church tomorrow- with all of Keith's travels, we haven't been as a family in four weeks. Maybe she'll bounce back this evening and be good as new by morning!
