spoiled beach plans
We were supposed to spend the end of the week at the beach before the kids go back to school Monday, but the forecast was for coastal rain for several days. We decided not to risk it and spend our beach time indoors, so we changed plans and headed to the Great Wolf Lodge in Charlotte instead. It was significantly more crowded than it was when we visited mid-week in the spring! We had previously been spoiled with no lines, but that was okay. We stuck together as a family and rode everything together. Everyone loved the howling tornado, though I didn't enjoy taking that huge drop backwards as it ended up being on three of our four times on it. It is such a cool ride though. One of my favorites was the speed racer slides, where four race at a time. Guess who won each and every time? ME!! I have no idea how, but it sure was fun hearing Keith behind me saying, "no way, mommy. how in the world are you beating me?" . I have to say it was my fine form- lifting the front of the mat slightly while bending my legs at the knee that gave me the advantage :-) The kids played magi quest as they did on our last visit, keeping us up and going until midnight. I mentioned to Keith that the lobby at the GWL must be one of the busiest hotel lobbies aside from perhaps casino hotels. There were kids running amok everywhere on those four floors, late into the night. Much fun was had by all and on Monday, I think the kids will return to school with happy memories of this track-out.

That secret form of your on the slide works everytime. The kids will discover it eventually.
