Kudos to a fantastic new show on Discovery

I stumbled upon "Facing Trauma" last week. It's a new show on Discovery Fit & Health. A plastic surgeon in New York is performing surgeries, pro bono, for victims of trauma to the face. Of the three episodes I've watched, all except for one were abuse cases. Estranged step fathers attacking grown step daughters with sulfuric acid, ex husbands taking knives to the faces of their ex wives. Serious, cringe-worthy attacks. The surgeon meets with the patients, has them see a counselor who specializes in traumatic events, and then performs the surgery. They then follow up with the patient at approximately three months after surgery. The results are nothing short of AMAZING. The compassion and empathy of Dr. Jacono are tear-jerking. But the strength of the victims: awe-inspiring.

I would highly recommend checking it out if you have the opportunity. Good stuff.
