We had a nice time in Ohio, despite the weather. It was a bit chilly and quite wet the entire time. We left 80+ degrees and sunshine for 60 and dreary. But...it was not dreary where the company was concerned. When everyone was together, we were twelve strong. When you put twelve people together in a confined space and some of them are Woolery males, chaos is sure to ensue. Justin and Kendall love when that happens. When you mix Uncle Kent, Uncle Dave, Grandpa and Keith together, add in a small serving of giggly women...you have a guaranteed good time. Mom W put on quite a spread of food Saturday (when we celebrated Easter with church, an egg hunt, games and a big dinner) with help from Sarah, who baked a strawberry pie and made deviled eggs; Marsha, who made jello salads; and Pam, who brought a ham and a home made carrot cake. I would have to say that the highlight for me was playing Mad Gab on Saturday night. It was Dad W, Mom W & Pammy against Sarah, Kendall and I. We laughed until my face hurt and it felt good!
We had a shorter drive home due to trying a new route which is always welcome when you are spending a day in the car. We arrived home to the nicest surprise. Our neighbors on either side of us mowed our lawn while we were away. Just to be nice! Raj on our left, mowed the front yard. Jeff on our right, mowed our back yard. They also found three snakes in our yard the day they mowed. A 7 foot water snake on our front porch steps, a black snake near the woods out back as well as another water snake near the woods out back. They even took pictures for us!
I am now slightly fearful of going out to water my garden. I know those snakes are helpful to have around, but I am still not fond of them....
