To end this track-out, we went skiing in Boone on Tuesday

We had a very short time to spend skiing this track out due to Keith having a heavy travel schedule. We left Monday evening to drive over to Boone- an easy 3 hour drive. We got up Tuesday and skied the entire day. The weather was a bit warmer than last year (27 instead of 12 degrees). They have received plenty of snow and that made the slopes powder snow instead of the ice of last year. It was MUCH easier to ski on powder than ice!! The kids picked up right where they left off and after two or three runs on the easy trail, they were off to the intermediate and difficult runs with their daddy. I spent plenty of time on the easy slope and then moved on to the intermediate. I am not, nor have I ever been a speed-demon...I don't love the thrill of speed as others might. That, coupled with my October nightmare on the cliff at Lake Powell, has deemed me a more cautious woman. My family was gracious enough not to force me beyond my comfort level :-) So, I spent my time becoming more comfortable with turning and steering myself so that when I do go on those more difficult slopes some day, I will have better control of my speed.
It was a great day and we had plenty of time to wear ourselves out. No one was terribly disappointed that we had to head home at the end of the day. Keith had a meeting Wednesday morning, so we drove back home (missing a blizzard that was forcast for Wednesday in Boone) and put our tired legs into our comfy beds that night.
