a morning on the lake

The kids each had a friend sleep over on Friday night. We actually left the four of them in the care of the twin 12 year olds that live next door while we met another couple for dinner for a couple of hours. The boys fell asleep early (midnight), but the girls chattered until after 2a.m. even though I begged them to sleep as I was SO tired. This was the first time Chelsea stayed over (or played at our house for that matter), and she and Kendall giggled non-stop. It was cute and she was very easy to have around- not demanding, ate anything, was respectful and was not overly hyper...my kind of house guest!

Saturday morning after a breakfast of pancakes and bacon, we went out to the lake for a few hours of tubing and swimming. The boys had two long, wild tube rides; the girls kindof just tooled around slowly a couple of times. The water is still very refreshingly cool, which it seems at this time of year it is usually a bit warmer. After we got back home, our guests went home and we got to take naps :-) That felt so good, and was needed as we had a party to attend later that evening.
