Mid-May Update

I fear this will be another rambling update as this is my tendency as of late...

We had Keith's parents in for a visit this week.  They had not been here in over a year!  It had also been longer than usual since we last saw them.  We were surprised at how the kids have nearly caught up to them in height.  Justin is almost as tall as grandpa and Kendall is very very close to the same height as grandma.  They enjoyed this!

Kendall's soccer team wrapped up their season last weekend with a tournament in Pinehurst.  They did very well, loosing only game number 4 (it was also the only game the opponent scored in).  It was nice that the team was able to bring 18 players so the girls could be subbed in and out, especially since it was very warm and sunny.  They finished the tournament in second place.  We drove back and forth to the fields as it was only an hour away.  It was a very easy drive, no interstate!

Monday a week ago, I put a nice fat dent in my SUV while parking at the mall.  We just dropped my car off this morning for repair.  I still can't believe I did what I did.  Stupid stupid stupid.  Ugh.

I will be taking Keith to the airport in about an hour (so I can use his car while mine is in for repair).   He will be in the Nashville area this weekend and will fly directly to Marco Island from Nashville, and will be in Florida until Thursday night.  I think the kids have party plans for this evening.  It should be one where the Woolery house is busting at the seams.  They always do this when I'm the only one home.  Lucky me :)  Kendall has two friends sleeping over.  She requested a bunch of junk food.  I bought some...chips, ring pops, jolly ranchers.  But, I also got fruit :)

I believe spring fever is setting in.  We are down to the last 4 weeks of school.  I'm starting to add events to the calendar, especially for Kendall finishing 8th grade.  There are picnics, dances, parties.  Oh!  And ortho appointments!  She is due to get her braces off before the end of June.  To say she is excited is a slight understatement.

Kendall had a date for the formal 8th grade dance.  She's been on and off boyfriends with a classmate since early February.  She broke up with him for the 4th or 5th time two weeks ago and it looks to be finally over for REAL this time.  She has this fabulous pink party dress that is being altered.  She also now has plans to go with a big group of girlfriends.  I think she will have a great time with them.  They are gathering at a friends house to primp, then go together to the dance, then back to the friends house for a sleepover.  We are picking a few of them up the next morning to go out on the lake for some tubing.  She has been way less moody in the two weeks since she broke things off...I think she feels it is in her best interest...I hope she remembers this and stays unattached for awhile...at least the summer!

Well...this is about all the tid-bits going on with us.  I'm going to put a couple of pictures with this post if I can remember how :)
